First and foremost each member is a very valuable asset
to the Chapter.
The Certificate Manager will make every effort to insure
that no one
loses any point value in the conversion to the Steamboat Plus
program.
In the past, the Steamboat series was considered one
of the most confusing
and complicated to upgrade. With three separate certificate
programs and
up to seven collectable seals, it became an accounting
nightmare for both
the members and the certificate manager. This is an effort
to simplify the
program. The new series will allow for online upgrades
and will be based on
contacts and points only. There will be no ongoing collectable
seals.
Those members who hold the Pilot and Master Pilot seals,
which are passed
out at special events and issued when a member visits
Shreveport, LA, will
still be collectable, but only during special events
to be announced in the future.
All other seals such as K, HK, Grand, 2 Grand, 1/2 Gal,
Gal, (and any others
that were collected in the past) will disappear on 1
April 2002. The Robert E.
Lee will become an upgrade on the Steamboat Plus instead
of a separate
certificate. This is also true for the Gypsy. Information
on how to obtain these
upgrades will be included in the new Steamboat information
page that will
be posted before 1 April 2002.
