| Beginning Dec 23, 2005 the
Steamboat Plus will begin a Digital program. Please note that this
program will be very different
from today's standard upgrade programs. First of all, contacts can be
made only using the Digital modes. (PSK31, PSK63, RTTY, FSK31, Throb,
Hellscriber and others that are considered current digital modes.) This
is a contact program, but not to be
confused with daily contact programs. You are allowed to work and claim
a member only one time for points to be applied to your Steamboat Plus. You must include the following log data: Call, 10x, Steamboat Plus number, date and mode. Please note that at least one contact per upgrade will be verified, therefore upgrades will take time to process. You are allowed to use mixed digital modes, but a call can only be claimed one time. You will earn 10 points for each contact. This includes both member and club station contacts. In addition, we will incorporate a new Prefix program for the Plus. When you reach 25 UNIQUE contacts with Plus members using the digital mode, you will be issued the letter "D". This letter will be added to your Steamboat Plus suffix and will take priority over all other endorsements in your suffix. (Example: if your Plus is 400L, after you earn the digital endorsement your Plus will be 400DL.) Club station contacts are not allowed for the Digital Endorsement. The certificate manager will track your contacts as you upgrade and issue the endorsement when you acquire the required contacts. For this effort you will earn 250 points added to your Steamboat Plus. Also, members with the digital endorsement will have a complete series of upgrades. Upgrades for the Digital program will be accepted on or after 1 Jan 2006. |
